No, the apocalypse is not the end of things, it is part of creation and an immanent process in the eternal cycle of becoming and passing away. There is no such thing as an evolutionary "way forward" that deludes us with salvation. Even if Jerome Reuter, alias ROME, initially only presents us with voice and acoustic guitar on "Hall Of Thatch", it is clear from the very first note that something new is beginning here. The sound of the album closes in on the gates of our perception like a mighty thunderstorm. ROME is like Virgil, who takes the listener by the hand like Dante and leads him through the spheres of our basic existence. But categories such as paradise, hell and purgatory would be far too banal to describe the abysses of the present. "Hall Of Thatch" has a great impact.
