Tribute to Hermann Hendrich printer 1854 - 1931 !!!

Hermann Hendrich's work, particularly his hall-like structures, including the Walpurgis Hall on the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor) in Thale and the Nibelungen Hall on the Drachenfels (Dragon's Rock) in Königswinter on the Rhine, offers a highly distinctive testament to his artistic output. Inspired by Richard Wagner's stage works, Hendrich breathed new life into the world of Germanic myth. [The text abruptly ends here, so the translation stops as well.] Hermann Hendrich (1854-1931), in collaboration with fellow artists, friends, and supporters (including Prof. Eugen Bracht, Wilhelm Bölsche, Houston Stewart Chamberlain, Prof. Felix Dahn, Max Dregger, Ernst Geyer, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Golther, Prof. Dr. Ernst Haeckel, Carl Hauptmann, Gerhard Hauptmann, Dr. Max Hecker, Prof. Engelbert Humperdinck, Ludwig Jacobowski, Bernhard Juchmann, Franz Josef Krings, Dr. Alfred Koeppen, Ernst Lauterer, sculptor Prof. Rudolf Maison, Prof. Morgenstern, sculptor Prof. Walter Schott, Bernhard Sehring, Franz Stassen, sculptor, Prof. Max Unger, Ernst Ritter von Marx, Siegfried Wagner, Paul Freiherr von Wolzogen, Dr. Ernst Wachler, Dr. Paul Wassily, Professor Wenglein, and Bruno Wille), created monumental buildings such as the Walpurgis Hall in Thale, the Legends Hall in Schreiberhau, the Nibelungen Hall in Königswinter, and the Hall The German Legends Ring in Burg an der Wupper and the Hendrich Hall in Kiel, where his large-scale paintings were exhibited, were among the venues where his work was displayed. A Hermann Hendrich memorial was under construction at the New Palace in Bayreuth. Hendrich was primarily inspired by Richard Wagner's operas and Germanic mythology. From both, he drew diverse motifs for a vast body of work. In 1926, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Walpurgis Hall, Hermann Hendrich was made an honorary citizen of the town of Thale. By this time, he was already living a very secluded life in the artists' colony of Schreiberhau in the Giant Mountains, in close proximity to the poets Carl and Gerhard Hauptmann. Despite his popularity, Hendrich was soon forgotten after his death. The isolation of Schreiberhau may have contributed to this. During the war, two of his halls—the Hendrich Hall in Kiel at the Kehdenhaus and the German Legends Ring Hall in Burg—were completely destroyed. The Hall of Legends in the Giant Mountains (Schreiberhau) likely fell into disrepair during the post-war years. Countless paintings have been lost since then.
