This split that came out first in 2010, limited to one hundred copies, with medium cdr, was reissued in 2013, this time in cd. It meets two German projects entirely worthy of interest.
On one side ABSCONsqui ART is mainly expressed through a neo-folk with bitter innocence, and on the other Gabe Unruh-duo formed by Linox and Adonar, whose music can be compared martial indus. Each protagonist speaks on eight tracks, sixteen pieces in all.
A veil of mystery envelops this split, in fact, on the one hand the musician who officiates in ART arcane to the particularity of hiding his face behind a mask, which is reminiscent of that of Mortiis, affiliation with the latter's only visual and has no impact on the music, on the other hand, little information is used to identify the personalities behind-Gabe Unruh.
This is ART abstruse opening the ball with Tochter Feuer showing face a more electronic, more martial, and darker than what we had discovered on the first album by this artist Somnium. The title poses outset of tension, a state of emergency where anxiety over the noisy creaking sounds. And the next song Killing Time, reinforces this feeling by making even hear an electric guitar and industrial rock influences.
Then the ambient piece Wolfseinsamkeit going to take a spooky turn this part of the split with hallucinatory including female vocals mixed with wolf howls. An alternative version of Roses of Picardy, which is a reinterpretation of the famous British song of the First World War will hang ART obscure neo-folk.
The remaining tracks are remixes, except Überall Überall Hölle Himmel is a kind of psychedelic pop jingle samples listening to the sounds of a whip, and a melancholy and slow Kunstgerecht title compound is added to the set, without bringing anything truly capital. Gabe Unruh-offers two interpretations of the excellent opening track of the first album of ART abstruse, Somnium I.
As for Gabe Unruh-listener will find less variety in emotions from music, in the sense that part of abstruse ART is a bit of a patchwork, but certainly not less talent to weave a nocturnal atmosphere and esoteric. The group proposes four original tracks and four remixes.
We can not blame this group a lack of originality, in fact, as mentioned above music draws from martial indus, but is not content to remain anchored. It brews much wider influences: electro, indus, synth-pop, ambient, film music ...
All this may seem disparate, yet Gabe-Unruh convinces, especially with Gedankenpolizei with his inclinations a little trance and ambience "ritual-the-castle-of-Wewelsburg" and Elektrogravitationsflugkreisel, both ambient and rhythmic, but very minimalist. In all cases, it is connected to the car radio a Haunebu.
Strydwolf remixes of Gedankenpolizei take the option of strengthening his martial side at first, and ambient dimension in a second time. Abstruse ART examines Elektrogravitationsflugkreisel and makes a touch from beyond the grave. Note, also, a final remix, Singt Eisern by Zr19.84 equally strange that all that has been heard before. A split border real ...
