Now finally I think the freshly released debut album "The alarm bells" in the hands of karma Marata. Came aware I became of them after I randomly in the enjoyment of voluptuous piece "In her eyes dies the world" on their first, published in Split CD "and still remain" with Kristian Giorgini (published by UFA Muzak / SkullLine).
After I struggled at the beginning of the album by the war battle Samples of the first piece and also failed the second, unfortunately, very electronically weighted distance behind me, I seemed to slow again to remember what it was that I was karma Marata attracted attention.
And that was very emotional and unpretentiöse performance of the singer in sound and word, which puts me in a timeless state and hinfortträgt me, from us all-encompassing speed. He seems to call for contemplation, for the poetry and grace.
Thematically, seem to move frequently between karma Marata melodious traditional tastes, such as desire, freedom, return, and natural beauty.
Since this group of musicians just want to go any genre descriptions, I'll take that test is not even, not at the risk by restricting terms of depth and complexity of this young and courageous formation needs to be. Courageous because maybe one or two votes to dismiss the music as maudlin and Karma Maratas pathetically inclined. But what would we be without these same feelings and the risk this time and again to bring the beauty of language and music to express and move with it and let it move?
With the song "Autumn Leaves", the musicians show back from one of your strong points, behind non-English languages, the difference, unfortunately, really raises a recognizable gap. It seems as if the singer could come by his mother tongue but in a clearer and depth to give the listener more powerfully his thought. Therefore, I also prefer those pieces, but this is certainly a matter of taste. All in all, the album oscillates between its bright and its still searching, verklärteren lights. But it is always worthwhile in and to listen! Not least for those wanting a way to get rid of everyday life and to reclaim at other times.
